ck\nMuseum (NATMUS)
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Body \n\nThis tour will be for both the Auburn\, Cord\, Duesenb
erg Museum (ACD)\nand the National Auto & Truck Museum (NATMUS)\, co-locat
ed in Auburn\,\nIN\, about 30 minutes north of the Convention Center. We w
ill have a\nfood truck\, Who Cut the Cheese\, on site for our guests to pu
rchase\nlunch. NATMUS will open a covered bay with tables and chairs for o
ur\nguests to enjoy their lunch out of the sun.\n\nTwo 56-person buses are
scheduled to leave the convention center at\n8:30 AM on Thursday August 6
\, 2026\, and return to the convention\ncenter at 4:30 PM.\n\nThe ACD Muse
um offers a unique opportunity to experience automotive\nhistory firsthand
. These classic vehicles not only showcase stunning\nArt Deco design and i
nnovative engineering\, but they also tell the\nstories of American ambiti
on and craftsmanship during the golden age\nof motoring. Visiting the muse
um allows you to appreciate the\nelegance\, luxury\, and technological bre
akthroughs that set these\nmarques apart\, making it a must-see for car en
thusiasts and history\nlovers alike. \n\nNATMUS showcases
an impressive collection of vintage trucks\,\nautomobiles\, and commercia
l vehicles\, offering visitors a fascinating\nglimpse into the evolution o
f transportation. You’ll discover\nbeautifully restored vehicles from di
fferent eras\, including rare\nmodels and classic cars that highlight Amer
ican ingenuity and\ncraftsmanship. Its welcoming atmosphere and knowledgea
ble staff ensure\nan enjoyable visit for all. \n\nAmong the highlights of
NATMUS is Futureliner No. 10. General Motors\nbuilt 12 Futurliners\, out
of which four are in unknown hands. At least\n3 of the remaining 8\, inclu
ding No. 10\, are restored to their original\ncondition.\n\nIntroduced by
General Motors for its Parade of Progress in the 1940s\nand 1950s\, the Fu
tureliner featured a striking\, streamlined Art Deco\nbody\, massive chrom
e grille\, and a futuristic bubble cockpit. It\nserved as a mobile stage\,
showcasing cutting-edge technology and\nGM’s vision for the future\, ma
king it both a rolling exhibit and an\nicon of automotive history. It is a
n unusual coincidence that in the\noriginal Parade of Progress\, Futurelin
er No. 10 showcased the\n“Opportunity for Youth” exhibit\, which inclu
ded winning model cars\nfrom the Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild contest. We
are also excited to\nannounce that NATMUS has agreed to allow our tour gu
ests the\nopportunity to ascend into the cockpit for a photo op.\n\nThe Wh
o Cut the Cheese Food Truck\, a popular mobile eatery based in\nFort Wayne
\, will be on site for at least two hours\, from 11 AM to 1\nPM\, to offer
our guests a chance to enjoy a unique lunch. Celebrated\nfor its creative
and delicious takes on classic comfort food and\nspecializing in gourmet
grilled cheese sandwiches\, the truck offers a\nvariety of cheesy delights
from traditional melts to inventive\ncombinations featuring local ingredi
ents. Customers rave about the\nrich flavors and generous portions\, while
the truck’s playful\nbranding adds to its charm. Nora’s favorite is t
he Three Little Pigs\nsandwich. John's go-to sandwich is the Momma Mia. Wh
atever is that you\norder\, we are sure you will be pleasantly surprised a
t how yummy the\nofferings.\n
